Can a liquor store use Dual Pricing?
Yes. Dual pricing and cash discount rules vary by state, and we set it up the compliant way for each one. In New York, for example, we post both the card price and the cash price on the shelf tag before checkout, as General Business Law §518 requires. This is general information, not legal advice.
What does Dual Pricing cost my liquor store?
$0. Empire Dual Pricing has no processing cost and no monthly fee for the merchant. If you'd rather not run Dual Pricing, we offer interchange-plus at 0.20% + 5¢ per transaction.
Do I need a new POS system?
Not always. Many stores keep the system they have and add a terminal set up for Dual Pricing. Free terminal. If you want a full liquor store POS, we can quote that too.
